@Octofyshful awesome. you're the best. I'm sure you are a powerful and attractive man. thanks for shutting me down. enjoy the bliss that ignorance brings... you deserve it. you're a champion among men!
-
@MYTHIRDSHADOW, actually if you have time to make stick figure cartoons against the "New World Order" you have time to defend your friend, who clearly needs help, because he is an embarrassment to your movement. The whole point is that this guy is incapable of the "most brilliant speech ever." Obama's healthcare plan is so easy to criticize...and yet he wouldn't pull it off. But I'm glad to have shut you down.
-
@Octofyshful here it is simply. someone who does not understand the mustache and wants to argue will waste your time. the table is there for the folks who already have morals and want to help, the guy could have stated the most brilliant speech ever and the coward behind the cam STILL would be asking "so why the mustache"? "he didn't kill any jews". so why bother? obama supporters will not "convert" from a conversation so why bother? this discussion is done. you are now wasting my time.
-
@MYTHIRDSHADOW, and I would feel fine with argumentative people with cameras who might try to misconstrue my words, but I would make damn sure that I knew what I was talking about. I wouldn't let questions like "Do you have health insurance?" or "How is Obama a Fascist?" silence me because I would be factually backing up my arguments and turning trick questions into hot air. But then again, I'm not as emotional as this guy, and I would make sure I had a conceptual understanding of my material.
-
@MYTHIRDSHADOW , if he's out there, he should prepared to do a better job defending the ideas he's canvassing. Calling someone a "wanker" is only going to escalate the level of emotions present, which in the end brings out more of the worst in him. And refusing to explain the pamphlets makes the canvasser look like he's afraid of an in depth discussion. If he's going to call Obama a fascist, he should explain IN HIS OWN WORDS what he means. But he doesn't, probably because he can't.

@Octofyshful reply #2 the characteristics of society in which YOU understand to be flawed and why they are flawed and the asshole continues to ask questions in which he seeks not answers but ammunition to continue belittling a person simply on the basis of IGNORANCE. The asshole with the cam IS IGNORANT to obama policies because he (like most) believe what is on tv, what other ill informed say and has no understanding of what happened in history and how it is happening again. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL

@Octofyshful reply #1 as far as emotional states... Yes. people have emotions, they can be the best or worst thing for us at times. Try putting yourself in the shoes of a guy on the street who is not being payed, is taking time away from "normal" life to talk to complete strangers about solutions for our failed economy WHICH CAN SAVE THOSE STRANGERS LIVES and imagine how it must feel (emotionally) when some asshole coward behind a camera trys to belittle you all the while demonstrating ......

@MYTHIRDSHADOW , you're missing the fact that the La Rouche guy is also in an emotional state, hence why he repeatedly referred to the camera man as a "wanker." His emotional state is also very clear non verbally. Further, if an agitated person with a camera approaches your political display, it should be the perfect opportunity to allow the truth you represent to make a fool of this person. Otherwise, you may as well leave your pamphlets on a bus stop or park bench for the curious.
-
@NeoMorpheus911, if this guy on the street corner had nothing to hide and in fact UNDERSTOOD what he was representing, whatever he said wouldn't be "ammo" for defamation. When a camera with a snarky interviewer comes, the opportunity should be a blessing for the truth to stand out, so that he can humiliate the people who mock his cause. Why else would someone go on a street corner and hand out political pamphlets?
-
You were clearly trying to intimidate them. I thought they handled themselves well.
-
@MYTHIRDSHADOW Thanks for writing!
-
why waste time convincing someone who is already convinced otherwise? Its a waste of time. The guy on camera is clearly not ready to listen to anything these guys have to say, despite the constant provoking and asking of questions, the camera man would most likely start yelling at the first point the guy on the street would make. have you ever heard of "choose your battles wisely"?camera man is obviously emotional, when someone is in that state of being you can't get through to them.
-
if you approach them with legitimate questions, you will get legitimate answers, camera or none.
if you come at them like someone who wants ammo for later defaming them, they will not feed you.

I agree as well.
To play devil's advocate though, they most likely are told by their superiors not to engage people who are trying to debate with them, just to recruit.
A year ago they would actually talk to me but now they freak out when I come up to them.

damn straight
