Creationism in Northern Ireland !????

You've mentioned a still-existing problem there in that many parents preferred catholic education over state education because the latter was dominated by protestant ministers and it also ignored all things Irish - history, music, sport, language, etc. Integrated education is troublesome in that it is openly Christian in nature and apparently there are a lot of evangelicals there. Only Irish-medium education has come in any way close to offering a secular option for parents.

111% agree. That said, I feel religions involve themselves too much throughout NI. Catholic education, for one, needs to go. If not on the a-religious ticket, at least let's try it to wipe-oup sectarianism in this already devided society. And, the albeit low control that Protestant church ministers have in the state education needs to be challenged. As per usual, there's not one single politician who has the backbone to challenge the Christians' defiance. Gr8 video.

Ian Durfell....... omg I nearly pissed myself laughing at that clown. Don't let religion be taught in science class.

cant believe some people. idiots

Great work - Hilarious ending!!!

eh, philosophy and religion are essentially the same. ORGANIZED religion kinda just stole everything, repackaged it, and called it something new.

Good video. Sorry to see that you have to deal with not only the ghosts of the past, but this particulary foolish and wasteful American export. You've got some pretty good videos in your collection. Sorry I didn't discover you earlier. 5* and subbed. Keep up the good work.

Furthur more I don't believe that you fully understand what creationism is. It believes the Earth is 6000 years old, this is easily disproven. It believes that water was dumped on the Earth from space, this is easily disproved. It believes water does not exist elsewhere; untrue, it exists on mars, and many moons in the vast solar system.

So tell me then, Mr. Know-It-All, where did the big bang come from? Creationism teaches humanity being created out of nothing?? Just appearing out of thin air? I don't know where you got that from but that is absolutely incorrect. It teaches that we were CREATED, hence "CREATIONism." It's the only thing that DOES make sense. Believing we came from apes or some random formation of slime (which apparently came from nothing and nowhere) is beyond ludicrous.

"Absolutely not. When it comes to God, there is no beginning or end. That is an entirely different form of existence. There is no time, no matter, etc. So it makes perfect sense."
So you admit that you have to complete defy your causation premise in order to make your argument work. This is know as 'internally inconsistent'. If god is without creator then why not the universe? Can you elaborate a reason why that fails? Or do you have to simply decree it false?

"where did the big bang come from?"
Fuck knows. If you have a good idea on that and some evidence to back it up I'm all ears. When you propose an idea (including 'god dun it') you have to back it up with something other than assertion.
"Creationism teaches humanity being created out of nothing??"
Well....dirt actually. I thought we were talking about the universe which creationism does teach was created out of nothing.

"It teaches that we were CREATED, hence "CREATIONism."
So somehow capitalising it will make me forget that it requires an 'out of nothingness' quality?
"Believing we came from apes..."
This implies that we are not apes which, according to biological classification, we are.
"or some random formation of slime"
And humans coming from dirt makes more sense? God says some freaking magic words and the dirt becomes human. Makes real sense.

There is one crucial aspect to this that you appear to be missing -- physical evidence. You mention apes. Genetic evidence points to the common ancestry we share with modern day apes. The fossil record and the gradual changes in bone structure it depicts points to the common ancestry we share with modern day apes. The biogeographical dispersion of humans and primate populations point to the common ancestry we share with modern day apes.
What have you apart from assertion?
