I was visiting Pine Ridge rez last summer and at Wounded Knee I met a lot of nice people there who I talked to for a very long time, One of them told me the whole story of the tragic day on Dec the 29, 1890, he told me other stories too. And I tell you, the people I met at the rez those days I were there, never have left my heart. Such warmth and goodness. Pilamayaye.
There was some pretty land there, but that was the most depressed place I think I've ever been to. Saw some people walking around, looking mentally lost, broken. Very sad place. Read the bullet-riddled sign about the massacre and basically got the hell out of there. Didn't look like it was all that inviting a place to stay for long.
Don't go there if you're White. We passed a sign that said "whites out", and a drunk injun threatened me to a fight at the memorial. That's the thanks we got for paying tribute to their people.
You would think our government could pass along a little stimulus package to fund a nice Wounded Knee Memorial there, seeing how they murdered all the people buried there including women and children.
While they're at it, they could put one up for the kids they murdered at Ruby Ridge & Waco too, since they saw fit to put one up for the fed employees in Oklahoma.
i was there in 1983 right beside the sacred burial site...was moving and emtional for me

What a screwed up, corrupt government we have.
