Not to be picky but Oxygen is not flammable, but it is a hell of an accelerator for something that is flammable. Biggest misconception in the history of the world.

@immolateus - I Pitched a 1099 Whitbread Ale yeast starter into a brown ale oxygenated with the Williamss Brewing Kit yesterday at 2:30pm and it was building kreusen by 6:30pm. It was blowing foam out the blow-off tube at 6:30 am today. Amazing.

@mattyblues101 I am sure that shaking would be better than nothing if there was no other method available. You should check out a book called "Yeast: Practical Guide to Beer Fermentation" written by some yeast experts; Chris White (White Labs) and Jamil Zainasheff (Biochem UC Davis) on page 79 they compare aeration methods. Shaking 5min accomplished 2.71ppm, Pure O2 60sec9.20 ppm, Target ppm for average wort & yeast strain 8-10ppm. Shaking is way to much effort in my opinion.
