Teddy Pendergrass put the soul in Soul Train. Whether performing with Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes or on his own, when the lights went down and Teddy took the stage, you knew something magic was about to happen.

  • Where can I get this DVD..... I had to watch this VIDEO 4/5 times then realized that one of my ALL TIME Favorite Songs was on the "You Can't Hide From Yourself" Episode. I know he did a set of songs the one I'm LOOKING for is "Can We Try". The only place that I have heard it performed Live was on an episode of Soul Train. IF ANYONE has ANY info on how to obtain the DVD and or that song(LIVE) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Let me know. Thanx for the clip and for your TIME.

  • @kmurphy29 yes he did that with Harold Melvin and the bluenotes

  • what's the last song please! :D

  • the best

  • I was watching the Pendergrass 79 live video and I was thinking to myself

"Why they are they not dancing to amazing this music"? But if you watch Pendergrass on Soul Train they getting on down!!!

  • Teddy P had one hell of a voice. I remember being a kid in the 90's and my parents who were young during the 70's used to play his music when we were traveling. As a kid I used to think his voice was kind of funny, but now that I'm in my 20's and listen to his music, his lyrics are amazing.

R.I.P Teddy P. Your music will live on forever.
