The greatest 20th Century speech by an American President. And it got him killed.

For much more of his eloquence, please go here:

  • He sure was, Bear.

Let's hope Obama remembers these sentiments as he decides on Af/Pak.

  • @xenomann442 Even in the aftermath of trickle-down economics, free-trade, privatisation, deregulation, the export of US manufacturing, union-busting, the concentration of corporate wealth and power, the upward-skewing of US income distribution etc, and among the now rapidly swelling numbers of a new permanent American Underclass 30 years in the making, the Reagan myth persists. Go figure. Propaganda, and the power of suggestion, I guess.

  • No teleprompter, just off the top of his head mostly. A real leader.

  • @ColtraneNYC Hope and change LOL? What morons you all were, voting for a mindless slogan.

  • What an incredible leader... we haven't had one like him since... and sadly we may never ever ever have another like him... and we will NEVER HAVE... another John Fitzgerald Kennedy. RIP 1917-1963

  • Those whose spirits are attracted to this heroic man, publicly executed by the dark powers that have ruled and nearly destroyed America since then, may wish to read the recent "JFK and the Unspeakable: Why he died and why it matters". This speech was virtually ignored at the time in the US. How sad. Let us remember him and draw strength from that memory. He left us enough to hold onto.

  • The question is, can we surrender our weapons and they surrendering theirs? Is there such a trust where together, we disarm ourselves. End war and killing. We begin developing non lethal weapons where the weak when leading for good and right, can help contain the evil strong. And are those weapons, for use among the good and right forever be, or can they fall into the hands of evil for evil uses. How do we develop a world, a system where there is no more evil in this world. Is it possible?

  • Replace the word "communists" with "terrorists" and that's the bogeyman we have today. Vote Ron Paul in 2012; he's the only candidate, Republican or Democrat, who wants to bring the troops home, immediately. His politics are more conservative than Kennedy's, but he speaks the truth, like JFK did.

  • @911TruthFighter - Fantastic book.

  • i assume anyone watching this has read 'jfk and the unspeakable'.... if not, read it.

  • @fruitlupes314 The Military Industrial Complex stood to lose their profits at the hands of a president who dared to speak of peace in the middle of the cold-war. As we've seen time and time again throughout history, the evils of the profit motive have no bounds. Those who stood to acquire billions, were willing to risk nuclear annihilation to meet that objective, as well as murdering both JFK, and RFK.
