Aled introduces this programme from the Vale of Evesham, as he looks for examples of Christian love on this St Valentines day. Although St Valentines day is very commercially exploited these days, Aled tells the story of the real Valentine, and how he performed Christian marriages during a time of persecution which led to him becoming a martyr. Our first hymn, which is sung by the congregation and choir of All Saint's Church, Evesham, is "O For A Heart To Praise My God". We next meet Dr Simon Gathercole who is a Lecturer in New Testament Studies at the University of Cambridge, and whos main interest is the interpretation of the New Testament and contempory literature. Aled next introduces The Arnold Singers of Rugby School, who sing a special arrangement by Malcolm Archer of "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling" set to the tunes of Fairest Isle, Love Divine and Blaenwern, this was recorded in St Mary's Church in Hanbury.
This is produced solely to promote Aled and his music.
(Apologies for the "Index Mark" at the begining of this clip, my back up video recording failed to start straight away, hence the notice).
Glad you enjoyed it..
