MAC successfully participated in the SPCA 'FRIENDS FOR LIFE' WALKATHON with our team, the 'MAC PAC'. Collectively almost $5000.00 was raised for MAC's effort.

MAC is a 3 yr old golden retriever who was hit by a truck on Christmas Eve of 2010. He was rushed to an emergency vet who told his owners that he was paralyzed from the waist down and would likely never walk again. He was catheterized and sent home where he was confined to a bed on the floor of his home. His owners then approached a local pool & hot tub company looking for a pre-owned hot tub that might be used for water therapy in the hopes that MAC could regain some use of his back legs again. Upon hearing of his plight, the store owners (who have goldens themselves) crafted a custom therapy pool for MAC free of charge. Check out this video and see his progress after just a few weeks of use. Way to go MAC!

  • I am the veterinarian that originally saw Mac at the Huronia VEC and I am very happy to see that he has recovered and I am touched by your video. It is often very difficult in emergency medicine as we see animals that are very traumatized and we are forced to make decisions on whether or not they will survive and what will be their quality of life. In this case I am glad the right decision was made and thanks to the hard work and love of Mac's family, he is happy and healthy. Dave Brown DVM
