Shankar was a great musician I can't believe film industry neglected him when he died. So cruel where all these actors who imitate western actors and musicians from Charlie Chaplin to the Beatles. So much for Bollywood crap.

Raj Kapoor was actually a joker, not an actor, he was a die-hard fan of Charlie-Chaplan whom he immitated in all his movies.

I was comparing this version with Manna Dey's original version and was pleasantly surprised. No wonder he was such a Connoisseur of great music!

I remember having attended this Gala program and it is in my mind like it happened yesterday! Raj Saab is superb and he even had danced on the Song "Bol Radha Bol"

so far I remember, the great showman Raj Kapoor sung this song at brabourne stadium, Bombay before release of MERA NAAM JOKER. I donot remember the exact year but it was NAVal NIGHT organised by Navy. I was surprised but when he was singing and dancing whole stadium was thrilled.

The composers are SHANKAR JAIKISHAN they gave music from 1949 to 1971 when Jaikishan met an untimely death. The had the most musical hits than any other composers in bollywood. 90% or more of their compositions were hits. Their consistency is even now unmatched! They were responsible for changing music in bollywood during this period. They were the best!
