I convinced my school to buy some licenses of modo for a class :) I'm excited to try it.
I was wondering which do you prefer, Maya or Modo?
I've used Maya and its definitely great software but just watching your tutorials Modo seems a lot more intuitive.

modo for modeling for sure. Maya is to bulky. Modo seems to get out of your way and let you work.

I don't use any model apps but I can tell you how to create the display just from watching these tutorials.
1.Draw out a large plain
2. Use the thicken tool
3. Use the line cut tool about 1/4 of an inch in from the perimeter
4. Bevel from the line we just made.
I'm not sure on what to do next but I'll learn when Eric posts the tutorial.

How do you split the plain into segments?
Excuse me for being a complete noob.

its in the tool properties with scale on the left. after activating the cube there will be a segments column.
