It's six months to the Beijing Olympic games. Residents have been forced out of their homes and their properties confiscated to make way for the construction of the new Olympic village. Without any reasonable compensation they are struggling to survive.

STORY:
It's the Chinese New Year in China. Families are enjoying their time celebrating together, but many Beijing residents have lost their property rights.

Without a place to stay or money to live, many residents from Guili and Datun in Beijing have to rely on their relatives and friends to survive.

[Li YuGui, GuiLi Resident, Beijing]: (1st quote, male?)

"I am the owner of my land and property. I have paid big amounts of tax every year for it. The government didn't consider my ownership; they just took it straight away. It's illegal, because I bought the land and house, so the land is mine. I appealed, but then they arrested me twice and put me in a labor camp."

Beijing Resident, Mr. Lu says, in 2001 his house was confiscated. He went with six other families to appeal to the government, but more than 20 people were arrested, including children younger than 10 years of age. They were locked up for 8 days.

[Lu QinChen, Beijing Residnet]: (2nd quote, male)
"In China, if you go to appeal, they ignore you; if you sue them, the court will decline the case. They take your very good and expensive house and in return give you a house in very bad condition, without sunlight, and with crocked floors and walls."

Da Tun Resident, Mr. Li said, the government evicted him from his house and only paid him a very small amount of compensation. It's not enough for his family to survive.

[Li Xinyuan, DaTun Resident, Beijing]: (3rd quote, male)

"After they took over my house, they only paid 50,000 yuan as compensation. It's impossible to buy another house anywhere with that amount of money. Both my children are still in school and prices are rising fast. How can we survive?"

According to a Chinese media report, since the Chinese Communist regime started building the Olympic Village, thousands of residents have lost their prosperities and are now homeless.

  • Outrageous! Shame on Communist China members not Chinese people! Invaded Vietnam's Islands, Japan's islands and Tibet homeland!

China 'will make secret checks on backgrounds of Olympic visitors'

Let the protest games begin. Beijing Olympic international goers will see and remmember for China violation human rights. Internation press will record and will showcase China's dubious commitment to universal human rights. China is deplorable: political dissidents are persecuted and even executed
