The annual "All Clothes Race" at the Serpentine Swimming Club in Hyde Park. Swimmers' handicaps are determined based on their performance over a variety of distances throughout the year. This race originated in the 1860's when swimming in ones clothes played a necessary part in the Club's programme for Life Saving drills along with its affiliation to the Royal Life Saving Society.
