Yes yes...somehow this wonderful tropical fruit followed me home and now I am enjoying it here in NYC. Can't wait to grow my own...

eww, can't believe u ate the heart, i luv guanabana, i find it in costa rica all the time, that, rambutan, and strawberries r the best fruits

They sell guanabana in Asian markets through out san Jose, los Angeles, and san Diego. It's not rare over here in cali

Your instincts are correct: the guanábana is indeed related to the cherimoya (and the American paw-paw for that matter).
