This UK Ministry of Defence video shows a concept called the Future Protected Vehicle - a light weight vehicle intended to have the effectiveness and survivability of a main battle tank. The scenario shows the vehicle deploying a tilt-duct VTOL UAV to locate targets for its smart projectiles. The concept is part of the UK MoD's Defence Technology Plan, released on February 26 2009.

  • Ah right then, I'll call the MOD and let them know that some 20 year old youth in Canada has seen the flaws, I'm sure they'll send flowers and call for strategy and design advice. YouTube, the home of geeks and emo kids comparing statistics from their spreadsheets.

I got 8 million on that Quak game once and it was, er, wikid.......init.

  • How is Japan ahead other countries in military technology?

  • Wow. I think it'd be awesome if the British could turn this out. That would be super helpful in places like Afghanistan, Iraq, and other places similar. Keep pushing the edge NATO!

  • @AlistairReid1992 we use uav all the time in afghan

  • @wiganerrmc I meant - no it aint, a UAV that size.....

I was replying to a previous comment calling it pointless.

    Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

I my point stands being able to deploy a UAV whenever you want where ever you want is very useful.

  • @britisharmybethebest ye it will be a UAV do you no wot UAV stands for

  • What if you can't get a UAV into a zone quickly enough? I think that having a vehicle with a UAV will make the process of detecting threats much more quicker and most probably will result in saving lives.

    I think it's a good idea.

  • No it aint a UAV thats size will have very short air time and very slow speed so being able to take it with you seems a great idea.

  • I said nothing about military technology I just said they are years ahead of the world in technology.

  • Looks like it has 90mm low pressure gun or something similar.

  • Torsion bar suspension is simple and durable. Regular pressurized cylinder and spring suspension don't withstand heavy damage and punishments. But I agree on the UAV thing, it's better off to have a dedicated vehicle carrying a UAV.
