Hi, no I didn't. You are right, the stabilizing is optical in this model but could be better, but it's only shaky when zoom in. Is good to use tripod with this camera.

just the alloy tripod, the lightweight one will be great ! ;)

By the way, look on the video carefully, you'll see that when the zoom is out the stabilizing works fine but when the zoom is in on full, and capture is from a hand (especially after buzzy weekend ;) it doesn't work at all. Roughly in the middle of my video, on the shore of the Thames river i have captured from the tripod - it was quite windy and with zoom in the picture was also unstable. The other similar camcorders could be worst
