  • Man you got a great specimen!

Il ove when they're functional but have signs of actual use.

But do tell me, how can the old powder contribute to the whistling sound?

    Take care!

  • All the factors of the day contributed in some way. We are not sure as on other days the whistle and echo isnt there. ITs good fun though. And this video is probably the last time this rifle will be fired because of its history. It might be time to give it a more public homewhere it can be seen and its story be told.

  • Why the intense whistle?

Is it cause you're shooting at nearby rocks or the barrel rifling is eaten out so the bullet thumbles?

    Let me know!

  • @TheBelva85 Hi, the rifle barrell does have external damage from shrapnel which worried us at first but it appears that there was no internal problem as it remained accurate. The shot is not at rocks however the range has a natural rock wall that does enhance the echo. The munitions used were also WW1 so the powder may have contributed to the sound. All we can tell you is the circumstances of the shoot, the echo and whistle was unintentional. But it came out well on the sound recording.
