Westlake is a series of 27 commercial television spots (adverts) that form a three act coming of age narrative. The whole 15 minute video is designed to break up into self contained mini-narratives. Most of the commercials are for my hometown Westlake, Ohio but there are also spots for Outback Steakhouse, Burger King, Fredericks Canvas Company, Home Depot, The Honda Element, Kmart, 3M, Ford Excursion, Dave and Buster's, Dramamine, Great Northern Mall, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and Abercrombie and Fitch.

This video was completed in 2003. It was shot on location in New York and Ohio at the Cooper Union, Westlake High School, Continental Flight 183, McVeigh Media, Woodstock NY, my parent's house, Great Northern Mall, and my mom's car.

Inspirations: Michael Bay, George Kuchar, Michael Smith, Tom Rubnitz (Pickle Surprise), Charles and Ray Eames, The Used, 28 Days Later, Three Kings, David O. Russel, Modest Mouse, The F*cking Champs, Pac-Man, Jackass, The Simpsons, Halo, Radiohead, Sue De Beer, NIN, Seinfield, The Pixies, Metallica, Jackson Pollack, Spike Jonze, George Romero's Dawn of the Dead.
