  • I was wondering if any of you did color guard? It kind of seems like it! I was wondering about the ball prop you used. Did you make them yourself? It reminds me of certain types of swing flags from guard is why I ask. really want to try them out! I just wasn't sure if it was poi or ones you made. If you could explain it, I'd greatly appreciate it. I absolutely love this! I was planning on doing a skit with Sailor Moon and the kids I teach drama to just had a circus play!

  • @angelbabycakes4u Nope, no color guard background for any of us; I'm a contemporary dancer but that's about it. :) The ball prop are plastic light-up poi balls we bought online from a company that sells them for raves. Originally we wanted the beginning of the dance to be in the dark with just the balls glowing, but the masq decided not to have lighting effects that year. I learned to spin poi from Maori dancers when I was on a dance tour performing in New Zealand.

  • OMG!! THIS WAS AMAZING!! i really want to no how u guys made ur costumes since i was thinking about cosplaying as either the red or pink or blue girl! i just mainly need help with the hair/wig! any tips? thx! ONCE AGAIN FANTASTIC PERFORMANCE!!! U GUYS EARNED IT!!

  • @mewzoeyrulz The wigs are hard and really heavy! All of them used styrofoam covered in hair extensions and PVC pipe, JunJun's (green) also used wooden rings and metal screws. For more detailed advice, I recommend private messaging the cosplayer of the costume you're most interested in, you can find most of us on American Cosplay Paradise. :)

  • i LOVED this skit! I wasnt at AB 2009 but found it on youtube. AMAZING. I'm hoping to see what you do this year. Can you believe it's a week from today?! Where are you guys from? Your stuff is amazing

  • @Sangochan12490 Thanks so much! We're all from various parts of New England. We'll be at AB 2011 but we're taking a break from competing - we had a really good idea for a skit but our lives are all too busy this year to commit to so many rehearsals. We have some fun group costume plans though. :)

  • you ppl r awesome!

  • I can't believe theres actually an anime skit in which people PRACTICED!! Srsly you ladies were awesome! :)

  • @DiamondDustProd Ohhh! Contemporary dancer, very nice! I wondered how hard poi was! Looks like you taught the others well enough to do a little bit of it, very cool! Haha, the lights thing was an idea I had. I could do a whole lot if cons would give us lighting abilities, but I know that it can be such a pain and hassle. I look forward to your return to skits! They are very entertaining. :)
