Lest We Forget-November 11th
Remembrance Day, Canada/Veterans Day, U.S.
A day to remember our vets & troops.

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

  • It used to be.. of'course! But somebody thought it 'conveient' to move it to the Saturday and Sunday before.. :P

  • Not the 11th? I am surprised.

    Hugs and thank you

  • In England it's all about the Sunday now though, not so much the day itself anymore.. :P

  • Thank you so much Martha.

You must be very proud of your husband.

    Heart Hugs.

  • Very touching Nancy, sorry for the late comment.

I personally thank my husband for his 20 years of service in the Navy. We are thankful for each and every soldier for their service. Take care, Martha
