Pat O'Malley does the Bing imitation. He sang with Hylton from 1930 - 1936.
Hylton's Band was very much a show band and did a lot of this sort of thing. Pat O'Malley was a talented voice impersonator. He was very popular on American radio when the band toured in 1934 and was a hit with his rendition of 'The Lion & Albert' in his Lancashire dialect. He left Hylton's band to work for the Dysney studios where his voice was used in many movies. Known to Americans as: J. Pat O'Malley.

is there a year for this?

This was a 78 my dad had in his collection .. long gone. I've been looking around for it ever since. Thanks so much! I love this record.

The band's pianist, Billy Munn, who came from Bridgeton in Glasgow, does the Louis Armstrong imitation. One writer called the imitation "atrocious". To me it sounds a bit more like Rufus Roughcut in the Wacky Races. Billy Munn, in his latter years, lived in Torquay and bred alsatians.

Naff? That was par for the course in the 1920s.

Pat O'Malley is the vocalist

Wow, I can't believe that it is really Whispering Jack Smith. It's too high.

My mistake. I thought that the file was created by stringing together pieces from existing recordings of "Dinah." It turns out that this is a single recording by Jack Hylton with the musicans making impersonations of Louis, Bing, Venuti, Lombardo, etc.
Wake up at the back, there, CarGuyZM10! Read alberthaim's comment above.
