  • good strat man, I'm dong my first IM (cda) and will be using a mix of accelerade/endurox. Will try the water only up front and try EFS gel strat you have there since I have a vacant cage below. I just hope I can make the cutoff.

  • @gringoculero Accelarade/Endurox are very slow to absorb because they use whey protein concentrate..this can wreak havoc on your gut towards the end of your race if not sooner. You may want to consider looking at fast absorbing fuels so you don't back-up your gut.

  • ironman cozumel.. jaja Congratulations

  • efs is some great stuff im a high school varsity runner and i take this stiff before runs/workouts and every long run i like to have a liquid shot and some efs set out for me

  • Oops, just saw the response, 6 mos after the race. I said hi to you before the race. for me I did great for my first IM. I stuck to my Acc/Endurox EFS plan as I did in training. I trained to just finish and I came in at 14:30, yet felt I could keep going. Meanwhile I saw people on the ground, or getting hauled away in aid cars the last 15 miles. I'll look up fast absorbing fuels for my next one when I train. Thanks for the advice.
