One more thing. I challenge all supporters of forced charity to point to the clause in the U.S. Constitution that gives the federal gubmint this power. If y'all knew anything about the the United States Government, you'd know why state sovereignty is paramount--it provides competition in the political market. Don't like your state's laws? Move to another state and pay your taxes there.

How about the government promotes competition by allowing small care providers to require their patients sign a waiver of malpractice lawsuit over a certain amount, and the government back them up? That way its up to the people whether to pay a premium for the right to sue.

And consider that ALL taxes are poor taxes (tax industry and they take it out of the blue collar pay, tax the wealthy and industry must increase their pay to keep them as employees, and again take it out of the blue collar pay). Also, socialized medicine removes all competition and and adds tremendous conflict of interest and opportunity for corruption in the system. The free market is far from perfect, but its a LOT better than socialism.

I'm no fan of Bush; However, socialized medicine will hurt these children in the end. Learn something about economics, people. When the government spends other people's money on other people, they waste the majority of it and thus lower the general standard of living even for the poor.

How many of you defending socialized medicine have ever donated any substantial amount to medical charities? Not too many, I bet. Yet you complain that our government doesn't force us to give to charity. Hypocrites you are.
Bush's argument is that Congress was expanding the program to cover people who can afford healthcare.

He just keeps digging himself into a deeper & deeper hole. Maybe if he keeps it up he'll cross the event horizon & never return.
