Brown Pelicans on the Oceanside Pier

The Oceanside Pier has a group of brown pelicans that have become a crowd favorite when it comes time to feeding them anchovies. Check out the feeding of some of these pelicans as they hang out on a sunny Sunday afternoon .These are some very tame pelicans that hang out on the Oceanside Pier and eat anchovie fish from the bait shop and left overs from fisherman. These pelicans are brown pelicans and can live up to about 35 years of age. Brown pelicans are also an endangered species and nearly 70% never make it to full maturity.
