A little bit more digging.

Notice her lack of gloves. Very sanitary, huh?...I don't donate there anymore. I'm a phlebotomist now, and there were so many things wrong with their procedures.

  • I've been an EMT for +20 years, and if you can't find a vein with gloves on..with an non mobile and willing patient, then perhaps phlebotomy is not your best career choice! PPE is not a choice if healthcare workers do not care about there own health, how can they really care for others? Very confusing to me.

  • pathetic! patients need to be informed about sloppy medical practicies. that idiot poking around with her finger could of stuck herself. i am amazed everyday how nieve ppl are about hazzardous situations.

  • oooooouch! i have never seen any one dig around like that? u look for vein BEFORE the needls!

  • @blinkgurl2 This is what you said "you can get permanent damage if you hit a nerve or worse if you hit an artery" so Uhh YOU DID!

  • @JHENSLEY551 dude, did i ever say arterial blood?!

    Uhh NO I DID NOT!

  • @Theoneandonlycookie how do u know if its done properly huh?

  • @blinkgurl2 Hitting an artery does permanent damage? Have you ever heard of an Air Blood Gas (ABG)? Thats arterial blood dear, not venous blood!

  • @Theoneandonlycookie you can get permanent damage if you hit a nerve or worse if you hit an artery. thats why fishing is unacceptable. learn your shit before u go on and talk

  • wtf how are you gonna find a vein in the fucking arm muscle i hate retards in the medical business i can hit a vein better than any of them and when you try to do it yourself because they're fucking up they go "herp derp this is my job i went to college"

  • @UNCRatDog FYI, lots and lots of medical professionals rarely use gloves, unless going into someone with known contact precautions. Plently of nurses and doctors as well as phlebotomists don't always use gloves. Its not the end of the world.

  • @BASTET64 permanent damage? really? what is an example of the "permanent damage" that could be caused here? Yes her nails are a little long, and she should have anchored the vein before "digging" around, but if done properly redirecting is painless and harmless, and on a really hard draw sometimes a necessary part of the job. quit your bitching.
