  • everyone is welcome to their opinion - however, as much as I enjoyed Chad & Jeremy, esp over the pop earwigs Freddie & the Dreamers did, the Yardbirds really rock - then and now!! They were an amazing band, and helped shape hard rock and roll as we know it today. C&J and Freddie are total drivel compared to The Yardbirds, in my opinion. peace

  • @soutache I think we should start the line because you are not alone. Everyone born in the late 40's to early 50's wants to go back to the 60's. If we only knew what we had we would have tried to keep a little piece of that, and I guess YouTube is that little piece that keeps our memories alive. We need all of the 60's TV Rock , and PoP shows like Shindig, Hallabaloo, Ed Sullivan, American Bandstand, and Mid Night Special back on TV. Thanks David

  • Great song! But how was it possible to be so jerkish in the 60's? The coolest decade ever.

  • Freddie always reminded me of Buddy Holly, but his music was no where close to being in the same ballpark, Chad and Jeremy were one of many duets from this period, but the Yardbirds were one band that spawned so many more bands and expanded rock and took it to next level

  • Interesting that the Yardbirds actually played their instruments in this clip. They did not do it that often in these mid-60s dance shows.

  • Ya know, I really liked the song "Do The Freddie" when I was a kid, but now I'm thinking Freddie may have been just a little light in the loafers.

  • Shindig performers actually played and sung live...no lip synching like American Bandstand.

  • Wow.........Yardbirds with Jeff Beck.........after Clapton then Jimmy Page followed Beck there.................and turned them into Led Zepplin..........

  • its funny to think that probably the biggest groups ever, beatles, rolling stones , led zeppelin, who and pink floyd were all from England, about half the size of texas. there were obviously a lot of good american and european groups too, but it was the initial impact of the beatles that created it I guess.

  • @WhiteCamry yes, and few people know this. It turned out to be only for publicity, but man, can you imagine the teenyboppers waiting for Davey, Micky, Peter and Michael, then seeing Jimi??

  • Frontman, Keith Relf, with the Yardbirds here., went on to form Renaissance, a great prog Band. If Shindig! or Hullabaloo were remade today, it would be as smash.

  • Freddie & the Dreamers were like the embarrassing mate of the British Invasion.
