Most things in Air Traffic Control are routine unless there is weather (or emergencies /special flights etc.). Take a look at the end of the video to see what I mean. This is a wonderful example of how the NAS is truly an "art" and gives a great view of traffic flows into Hartsfield - Jackson Atlanta International Airport (Atlanta Georgia) over a period of around 4 1/2 hours. On a typical day controllers in ZTL ARTCC / A80 TRACON / ATL ATCT will work with over 1,000 arrivals into ATL! On a good day with nice visibility and the professional flight crews we work with, controllers can push about 126 arrivals per hour into the airport. The real professionals could squeeze in a few more than that but the airport would be grid locked. ATL truley is a HEAVY METAL LOVER! This takes talents, folks. On and upwards.
