Erin this has been going on for decades in the south. Florida has 25 old coal-gasification plants that dumped billions of tons of coal ash in minority neighborhoods. The TVA only brought national attention to the matter. Check out my video in 2007, The Orlando Housing Authority removed about 100 thousands tons of coal ash from the public housing I lived in as a child. Regulation was needed then just as it is now. Check out the death from disease rates in my neighborhood and life expectancy.
