Many Warblers are heard more often than they are seen. Garden Warblers are no exception and learning to recognise their song can help to identify them. Their song has a fluting warble slightly reminiscent of a Blackbird mixed with the scratchiness of a Blackcap. Long verses of deep notes shuttling up and down like a rippling brook. Lacks the final flute-like note of the Blackcap.
