I can appreciate the fact that you knew John Phillips but just because you know him doesn't mean you KNOW him. If Mackenzie wanted to make a media splash about a falsehood just to thicken her wallet, I doubt she would have used incest when there were other options.

I had a friend who was a great guy. We partied and shared a lot of laughs. He was arrested for possession of child porn. I was stunned. I knew this guy very well, but apparently I didn't KNOW him.

Bestmusicexpert: That is swell that you knew them and I agree that their songs are magnificent. But even his band mate, Denny, believed the charges and he knew him the best. You admit that he liked 'young girls,' which is suspect by itself. Mack didn't live with him much and mix in the drugs, I can imagine a scenario where he didn't think she was really his daughter because he hardly lived with her. Also, some of the greatest talents we have had have been sick puppies.

So much bickering....John Phillips was a flawed great musical talent...Many of the greats flocked to John for more than his great parties and drugs...When the drugs took over the genius stopped and the egotistical bastard rose instead. John was doing things in the studio that were on par with the pre-rat bastard Phil Spector.

@funkmasterjee The M&Ps were one of the best vocal groups/bands of all time (yes, either is acceptable...I see a guitar and a voice IS an instrument, any argument otherwise is simply opinion), and I'm in my 30's. Remember that there are millions out there with no ear whatsoever, for whom music is nothing more than background noise. Anyone who would prove themselves tone-deaf and idiotic by saying the M&Ps were over-rated need to be relegated to the background noise themselves.
