  • Signal Stat has no idea...ass on shoulders is just a stupid comment from a stupid person obviously...Daryl was just more quiet in public than Toni...He's very easy going!

  • @MrEdgarjuan: I had read that as well. Wow, a woman has really got to be in love with a man to write that kind of song. Lucky Daryl. :o)

  • @MrEdgarjuan No problem. I'd coincidentally heard her speak on the matter at playlist.com only minutes before reading your comment. On reflection, I certainly understand how someone inclined to read into lyrics might well draw the conclusion that it was a subtle ode to a lesbian lover. I certainly heard most of Melissa Etheridge's music in a new key once I learned of her preferences.

  • @JM1776A thanks for the info.i sat close to mis.tenille in the 80s at dodger stadium, the fernando years.and she is a great talent.i also go back to the 60s at the dresden room on vermont.to me the song is a great song.maybe i was given the wrong info.thanks again.

  • @MrEdgarjuan: Your belief is incorrect. Toni Tennille is on record as saying that it was written for her husband, "The Captain" Daryl Dragon.

  • So true...Love you always Bobby

  • i believe this song was written with a hidden meaning of the love from a woman to another woman.but it is a great song.of course, who cares?

  • Soooo glad i was brought up on music like this at a very young age, amazing timeless music never dies...

  • @sparwood8 I feel ashamed that my generation doesn't know how to love like this; this is the epitome of love. I don't care what anyone says. :')
