Aye many Scots do carry the Pictish gene but this does not make them Pictish, they died out near one thousand years ago along with the other settlers and became the Scots. Here in Scotland you are only Scottish if you're raised here, not because somebody you are related to was raised here, otherwise what about you is Scottish you wouldn't walk, talk or act like a Scot. That ethic shite only apply's in post colonial nations.

Actually, Picts have a specific gene that many Scots carry. Easily traceable to being a Pict. Also, when others say they're Scottish, they speak of their heritage, not nationality. Scotland is still their motherland and most of them hold a special love for it. And according to genetics, 10% of the world is Scottish. Let people be proud of it. Coming off as a prick does nothing.

I'm not shaming anybody for their heritage, be proud of your heritage but it does not make you Scottish. "Picti" The picts were a people before Scotland even existed and were absorbed into the Scotti, and the Scotti along with the Scandinavian and Anglo-Germanic peoples became the Scots. Somebody today cannot be a Pict especially not an American.

First of all you're neither you're an American merely with Scottish and Irish ancestry, and second of all Scot is spelled with one T "Scott" is a Scottish surname. Don't say your Scottish boy you give real Scots a bad name.
