Coinciding with the 17th Skills Canada National Competition, CAF-FCA hosted the national dialogue, "Success in the Skilled Trades: The Quebec Perspective", on June 2, 2011 in Quebec City. More than 30 guests representing various stakeholders from across Canada, including school boards, provincial and federal government departments, unions, industry associations and other organizations, joined the CAF-FCA Board of Directors to learn about, share and discuss some of the best and most promising practices in apprenticeship systems across Canada, with a particular focus on Quebec. The event opened with a presentation from Quebec government representatives who shared insights on the workings of Quebec's apprenticeship system. Participants then heard firsthand accounts from an employer, an apprentice and two journeypersons about their experiences with apprenticeship in Quebec. To learn more, watch the video clips, view the PowerPoint presentation, or read the summary.
