Old super 8 film of a Canucks home game (1976). Not terribly interesting. Well... maybe a tad interesting - considering this all happened 35 years ago. Some of these players are already dead for crying out loud. Rick Blight for one. And I haven't been feeling good myself lately.

Harold Snepsts Dave Fortier Jack McIlhargey Andy Spruce Dennis Ververgaert Garry Monahan Chris Oddleifson Ron Sedlbauer Brad Gassoff Don Lever Larry Goodenough Bob Dailey Hilliard Graves Bobby Lalonde Larry Carriere Mike Robitaille Rick Blight Caesar Maniago Dennis Kearns John Gould

  • The Canuck's original stickboy from 1970 is still with the team today. His name is Ron Shute and he was a substitute teacher at my junior high school in South Surrey. If you watch Canuck games he's the guy behind the bench with a mustache and glasses. He's rarely mentioned but is truly the longest-serving Canuck employee!

  • gotta love the old pacific coliseum

  • I hadn't realized that Maniago lasted that long in the NHL. I liked him with the North Stars back in the early days of expansion, when he put up pretty good numbers for a so-so team. I don't remember him at all with the Canucks, but being an east coast guy the rare chance to catch them on TV would have been late night anyway. The early Vancouver goalies I remember were Dunc Wilson, who, like Maniago, had a very identifiable mask, and Charlie Hodge, wrapping up a long career.

  • @thehockeykid7979 Now they only need to get back that stick logo.

  • #20 Bobby Lalonde? Sanderson and Walton were also on this team...the Smyth that year was real weak division..every team under .500..nice footage though...loved those unis one of the last years before the dark years of some of the ugliest uniforms in sports history...forgot that Maniago played with Vancouver.

  • @Ninjakasumi500 I gotta love that the top ticket in the house those days was only $10.

  • I remember Dave Fortier coming up with the Islanders as a defenseman around 1975. He was with them in their first playoff year. The next year he was with the 'Nucks and they played the Isles in a best of 3 first round series which the Isles won in two straight.

  • Those jerseys were Vancouver's best.

  • I love those old Canucks uniforms.

  • @cdncajun no way really? thats cool!

  • for all of you guys that love cesare maniago, he's my grandfather
