Our first outing after our heartbreak at the G. Lazaridis with a good diagonal ball to John Aloisi who beats two men to fire past the Mexican keeper. It is such a shame he's had to spend the past decade as a perennial substitute when his talent demanded a far greater role in the green and gold. Australia ran out deserved 3-1 winners.

  • obviously people who criticize viduka are fucking morons who dont know anything about football. if it wasn't for his genius, we would not win half the games we did. remember his brilliant back heel against Uruguay in the box which led to our goal?

  • @mvfc10 i know you are but what am i? i've forgotten more about football than what you know about football

everyone made a big deal about him at melbourne knights and everyone made a big deal about him holding up the ball in guus' reign. the fact is that he was tipped to be some big superstar, at least in oz and he didn't live up to expectations. that's the facts. if he was so good, he would have got australia into the 1998 and 2002 world cups

  • @freshcelery i agree with that. he was better than viduka. if anything, viduka was overrated. he was terrible for the socceroos. he played a special role under hiddink but aside from being able to hold the ball up, he couldn't score goals. now the socceroos have mcdonald, who is hopeless and mkes viduka look good

  • hes definitely overrated recently but its not his fault. he was one of our best players once upon a time and a lot of people argued that he was a far more dangerous player than viduka which was true. hes been on the decline since he left spain and will never be as good as he used to be but he was a very good player in his day

  • Pretty good goal. Always seen him as quite overrated though, especially recently (because of the penalty against uruguay).

  • i've seen him score a goal almost identical to that at national level more recently, i just can't think when it was. i think it was his goal vs japan in the world cup

  • wow este si no lo había visto, una prueba más de la inoperancia de oswaldo sanchez en el extranjero

  • Great vid thanks for sharing. And I agree with you about his talent!
