The year is 1845, the earliest days of the Oregon Trail, and a wagon team of three families has hired the mountain man Stephen Meek to guide them over the Cascade Mountains. Claiming to know a short cut, Meek leads the group on an unmarked path across the high plain desert, only to become lost in the dry rock and sage. Over the coming days, the emigrants must face the scourges of hunger, thirst, and their own lack of faith in each other's instincts for survival. When a Native American wanderer crosses their path, the emigrants are torn between their trust in a guide who has proven himself unreliable and a man who has always been seen as the natural enemy.

  • shit film

  • @MikeScott21 Have you seen Synecdoche New York? She's good in that too!

  • the first 15 seconds of the trailer sums up the first 10mins of the movie...

  • @nancylopez787 plain? What the HELL are you talking about?

  • @evelsteev You are sick you should check your plain if you have any…!!!

  • I loved this movie. I can understand why it's not for everyone, but I was hypnostized almost, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. You're transported there into the middle of it all - growing more weiry every day on the dry barron landscape, the tension and uncertainty of the situation as it means life or death, I bought the director's vision 100% It haunts you after. Again, I understand those that are critical - i mean I hated Tree of Life, it didn't work for me at all - I loved this one.

  • Didn't like the movie that much. You won't be so excited about having watched it.

  • Water is so essential in this movie. I want to give them a cold refreshing bath.

  • Michelle Williams is so hot, I'd fuck in the hot ass desert, even if there's no water, and while she's wearing that Holly Hobby costume. Yummy.
