Introduction to visual impairments after stroke

Brain damage often results in visual disturbances. For example, between 20-30% of stroke patients suffer some loss of visual function. This can include visual field loss, double vision and visual neglect. Approximately 13% of stroke patients will suffer from bilateral visual field loss as a result of damage to the temporal, parietal or occipital lobes.
