UP CLOSE... I caught this on a random trip to Hunters Point in SF (Dec. 21, 2011). The train came off the main line with only a few tanks which I could not film because I had railroad haters in the vehicle with me. After I disposed of one of them I was able to gain control of the situation and film these 5 locos returning with a few tankers and about 1 million gondolas. I was trying to fight the glare by getting in the shadow of the train, but it did not work. Sorry for being indecisive and shaky also, I was planning to use the zoom when the train came around the corner, but then realized that i-phone zoom sucks, so I got closer... If you want to see the cool track work here google map 3rd St. and Cargo Way in San Francisco Ca. and you will find your way around the area. There are two cool double crossover on this branch line and there are lots of neat spots where you can do a "street view" and see track and fr8.
Nice catch Martin. I really like those unpatched Cotton Belt locomotives. Now street running is something i wish to see.

If Anybody is riding with me they Will see a train if there is one around. I was doing a job in Illinois when UP 3985 was running from Kansas City to St. Louis,Mo. I told my helper we were going on a little sidetrip. Drove to Kansas city and got aroom. Bright n early got up and started chasing 3985 all the way to St. louis.Helper videotaped one shot then sat in the truck rest of the day! Oh Well, I got to see 3985!

Man two unpatched Cotton Belts that's probably one of the rarest catches for a local job yet. Awesome catch and lash-up
