I get your point about woman in politics, but I know--at least when it comes to me--that it wasn't Palin's dress or looks that turned me off to her. It was the words that came out of her mouth. To me, it sounded as if she had no idea what she was talking about.

Also- I know it tends to be a joke about how manly Hillary is, but I think she was rather good looking--at least during the Clinton administration. Though I voted for McCain, i think Hilary is a good counterpoint to your argument.

@raphtheman The joke on how manly a woman wasn't a joke on Hillary, but on every woman who fear being a woman stands in their way and who go out of their way to try to hide the fact they are a woman. Like Boxer being offended at being called "ma'am" or the style of Janet Napolitano, etc.

Hillary, though certainly spared the criticism that Sarah gets bashed with daily, certainly has her own issues. basically being ignored and underused in her position as secretary of the state.

@raphtheman However, whether you believe Palin is ready for office or not, The criticism of women on the right is in excess, crude and has nothing to do with politics. it is downright cruel. Women on the left face nothing like it and if they did, the feminists would be outraged!

Liberal women try too hard to be a man in a mans world.

Conservative women aren't afraid to be a woman in a mans world.

You know why Obama had to have all those signs made up for his rallies when he was campaigning, "Women for Obama"? Because if they didn't hold the signs, you wouldn't be able to tell the women apart from the men.

When criticism of Palin became sexist, i.e. Letterman, everybody on the left and right objected. Palin draws ridicule because her words and statements make her sound like a 360 degree dufus. Such statements as, "in honor of our troops, you stop making things up about me", "i'm stepping down because i'm not a quitter", huh? You can't talk like that and expect to be taking seriously. Stop coddling her and help her, teach her to express herself more elequently. Michelle Obama can help her!
