***UPDATE, 8/7*** I have another recording of the same scene, taken with a different camera. We captured the same stuff, for the most part, but the audio is better in this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NST5Ln4y4LU ***
Chevelle is an American rock band consisting of three members: Pete Loeffler (lead singer, lead guitarist), Sam Loeffler (drummer), and Dean Bernardini (bass guitar player, backing vocalist).
In this video, filmed on Independence Day, on the Fort Bragg Army Base in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, the song "Well Enough Alone" is interrupted when the band notices that a member of the audience is being sprayed in the face with pepper spray!
The show in Ft. Bragg was free and open to the public. Chevelle is, at the time of this writing, still on tour (See tour dates on their official website, here: http://www.chevelleinc.com/events ). You absolutely MUST see them in concert, especially if you haven't done so already. Their live performances are energetic, hard-hitting, wonderfully impassioned, and highly memorable. In my opinion, it's incredible that such a rich and powerful sound can be produced by just 3 people. If you agree, *support them* by buying their records!: http://www.chevelleinc.com/music/sci-fi-crimes
It's the least you could do for a band that kicks as much ass as they do, plays for FREE for members of our military and their families (on a holiday, no less), takes a principled stand against violence being perpetrated against their fans by security personnel (and they brought the guy who was sprayed on stage at the end of the show and bought him a beer!), and takes time, after a show, to pose for photos and sign autographs for all the fans who waited for them.
I shot this with a Canon SX210 IS. If you would like to see more, let me know and I might upload another video.
If you were at this show, post and tell us about the experience!!!

"Well Enough Alone" lyrics:
Sick
Walk down the realm
hint to no one that this
generic bond exists
evil shows another side
And like before, makes no sense
never coming
always leaving right before
hooked on substance
dig in deeper
can't reveal
Why we leave
well enough alone
never thought about the shame
So fed up
what's with the scenes?
Observe and leave instead
this pity wagon
penetrates my skin
so sensitive, makes me sick
And like before, makes no sense
never coming
always leaving right before
hooked on substance
dig in deeper
can't reveal
Why we leave
well enough alone
never thought about the shame
The old and the aged
pulled and never knew what hit
Rolled
the old and the aged
pulled and never knew what hit
And like before, makes no sense
never coming
always leaving right before
hooked on substance
dig in deeper
can't reveal
Why we leave
well enough alone
never thought about the shame
why we leave
well enough alone
never thought about the shame
Rockers who are too scared to physically intervene. And a bunch of rock fans also scared. WTF?

@TheRushingWind They didn't seem scared to me. It would have been dumb for the guys in Chevelle to jump into the crowd and "physically intervene" against a police officer with a canister of pepper spray. They did what they could, which was much more than many bands or musicians would have done.

@gilmotier it would have been "dumb" for a WHOLE CROWD OF PEOPLE to intervene against ONE (or a few) officers with a can of pepper spray?! No, it would have been sensible, they could have overpowered him (has happened before), and they would not been acting like sheep whilst claiming to be rockers.

@TheRushingWind Can't agree that it'd be sensible for an entire crowd of people to attack one, or even a few police officers, because one cop hit someone with pepper spray. If that had happened, a riot would have broken out, more police officers and MPs --who have weapons, I remind you-- would have been called in to "deal with" the crowd, many more innocent people (including children, as this was an all-ages event) would have been injured, and the festival would have been canceled immediately.

@TheRushingWind I like the way Chevelle handled the situation. They made their disapproval known, it didn't cause a needless escalation of violence, and the guy who was sprayed got to get up on stage after the show, get some recognition from the crowd, and share a few beers with the band. Plus, the show went on, people enjoyed themselves, and no one else was hurt. What's wrong with that?

Good music, bad sound quality !!!

@Longwaytonowhere There is nothing I can do about that now; it was just too loud for the camera's internal mic and there was no mic-in port. (Plus, I didn't know at the time that the sound would turn out the way it did.) I recorded another video of this song with better audio quality -- see the "response" to this video.
