My favorite music artist of all time, and so under rated. This song was first released as a 45 in March 1964. It peaked around #12 depending on various sources. The first album it was orginally included in was "Boys, Boys, Boys" which was released in May of 1964.

((( BOYS, BOYS, BOYS )))

  • To me 1964 is when Lesley really took off, so many hits. Ok I'm weird -- but when I think of 1964 the first 2 things I think of is Lesley and Pontiacs--i.e. the new GTO came out in 64. Good year for a lot of things I love. Music and Cars were really changing fast/getting exciting compared to just a few years earlier. If I was time machined to 64 & got to take around 3000 bucks I'd be driving a 389v8/348hp tripower carbed 64 GTO, or 421v8/370hp tripower Grand Prix WHILE LISTENING TO THIS MUSIC!

  • @1967PmdGto Lesley had several big hits before THAT'S THE WAY BOYS ARE: IT'S MY PARTY; JUDY'S TURN TO CRY; SHE'S A FOOL; YOU DON'T OWN ME. (JUST LET ME CRY also received airplay).

You are correct, and I've got ALL those 63's you mentioned on my ipod LOL, plus others from 63 like The Old Crowd, No More Tears Left To Cry, Sunshine Lollipops..., Fools Rush In, and more. But there's so many from 64 that I love (guess I was thinking a little personally). In addition to this song/vid I love these 64s Maybe I know, Wonder Boy, Leave Me Alone, Live and Learn, I Died Inside, Hey Now, I Don't Wanna Be A Loser, Look of Love, Sometimes I Wish I Were A Boy, etc

  • I also forgot I'M COOLIN NO FOOLIN from 64, that's another GREAT one.

However, if you told me I had to delete any one year of hers from 1963-67 off my ipod, I couldn't do w/out one of those years!

  • @1967PmdGto Agree, I'm Coolin', No Foolin' is another gem by Lesley. She co-wrote that song for her third Mercury album, BOYS, BOYS, BOYS.
