The Van Allen belt is a radiation belt, but the relatively small size of the Van Allen belt and the speed at which the capsule was travelling (not to mention the radiation shielding) resulted in a minimal negative effect. So go think for yourself you lying sack of shit.

We did land on the moon, its that the project was a 'money was no object' deal. Even then everything was made by the lowest bidder. This became all too nasty during the Apollo 13 mission.

We wanted to beat the Soviets to the Moon, and we made a promise, while the Soviets were playing with their N-1 system (which kept blowing up on the pad, literally), we made everything tailor made to the mission.
