This isn't your typical, run-of-the-mill, just-like-your-computer kind of inbox. It lets you see your messages in entirely new ways. Better ways. And even more fun ways. So it's a pleasure to read whatever they send. It's one intriguing inbox.Whichever way you hold your iPad 2, you get a new way to see your email. In landscape, it's a split-screen view of a message and your inbox, so you can plow through email quickly. When you need to focus, turn iPad to portrait and one message fills the screen. And with a tap, you can see your inbox whenever you like.Amazing by all accounts.
Add your work account, your fun account, and any other email account to iPad. Keep them in separate inboxes and easily switch between them. Or put all your accounts in one inbox and see all your messages at once. Mail works with the most popular providers, including Google Gmail, Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, and AOL — along with most industry-standard IMAP and POP email systems.Wherever you go, iCloud delivers.Along with iCloud, you get a free me.com email account that works great with Mail on iPad. It's ad-free and protects against spam. And once you set it up the way you like, all your folders appear the same on all your devices.1More than just words.Mail supports rich HTML, so images and photos appear right in the message. You can open a PDF, iWork, or Microsoft Office file in Mail. Save PDFs to iBooks and open them from the bookshelf. Save photos to your Camera Roll and keep them in your collection. Print email from your iPad with AirPrint.2 And when you compose messages, you can format text using bold, italics, and underlined fonts. Emails look so good on iPad, you'll never even miss writing and reading them on your computer.Re: Re: Re: Re: Email threads.Keep track of entire email conversations by grouping mail by thread — the original email and its many replies — under the most recent message. Need to hunt down a particular message? One flick brings up the search field so you can search within the body of the message or by subject, date, or recipient.Really smart messages.
Mail in iPad goes above and beyond regular email. It converts URLs, phone numbers, email addresses, dates, and street addresses to links. Just tap a link and go straight to Safari, Contacts, Calendar, or Maps.A few words about the keyboard.Whenever you need to type, the supersmart iPad keyboard appears onscreen. It suggests words, corrects spelling, and inserts punctuation. It recognizes email addresses from your contacts. And it supports almost any language you can think of. In landscape, the keyboard is full-size and hands-on. In portrait, your thumbs take over typing duties. Move the keyboard up and down, or split it in half for extra-comfortable typing on the big screen. And when iPad rests on the iPad Smart Cover, words flow even easier.
