  • Nice to see these photos. The Battleship at Palmers is probably HMS Lord Nelson. My late mother was related to the Palmers and remembered being taken to the yard often as a treat to see 'grandather's workmen' leave at clocking off time

  • so sad to see ship builers & dry docks go , only thing left is a very small fishing fleet which will soon be gone throu eec quoters, then it will be all houseson the banks of the tyne from newcastle to tynemouth , no room left for industry there now
