The Treaty Of Waitangi must be the most sacred, revered and talked about document in New Zealand history.

The drama begins on 3rd of February, 1840 as Busby and Colenso have asked a number of significant Nga Puhi chiefs to converge to discuss the Treaty - but as yet, there is no Treaty. It emerges Hobson has not even begun to write it when he arrives by ship. Meanwhile, Maori leaders try to understand what exactly the British hope to achieve and what advantage there might be in making a pact with the English.

Written by Gavin Strawhan ( This Is Not My Life, Go Girls ), with novelist Witi Ihimaera as story consultant, Waitangi: What Really Happened is an entertaining, colourful docu-drama about the days leading up to and including the signing of the treaty, revealing the incredible story and the characters behind the treaty's creation. The premise of the show involves time travelling a reporter to 1840, where he finds a host of colourful characters all playing a vital role in what later became Kiwi history.

  • @StoneColdAxe Well actually there are zero Christian gods because one has never been proved to exist. No I don't have an opinion, it's the cold hard objective facts that god doesn't exist. Science substantiates this and science is not made up of opinions but empirical observations. Most certainly the leap from deism to theism is logically impossible because it requires the supernatural. But hey if you want to believe the ravings of a primitive iron age culture from the desert, go ahead.

  • @Pomaori As for him not being real, well, you may have your opinion.

All I will say is that you would not believe some of the miracles I have seen performed in the name of Christ. God bless.

  • @Pomaori Like I said, you can choose to analyse it however you like. The fact of it is that true Christianity (whatever denominations it holds) is based upon one singular theology - the following of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As such, the Catholics still worship the same God as the Anglicans, Baptists, Methodists e.t.c. Each is fundamentally the same, so the fact that each go about worship slightly differently is irrelevant.

  • @StoneColdAxe But god is metaphysical by definition. Listen to any "decent" Christian scholar they will tell you that. Which basically means he is undetectable. Therefore he only exists in theory. If there was only one god in Christianity there would be one uniformal religion based on a singular theology. The difference comes in the personal perception of the tenants or doctrine of god, which creates sects. This process necessitates multiple personal Christian gods. Anyway he's not real

  • @Pomaori You can choose to analyse it however you like. Case in point, there is only one God of Christianity. The various denominations arise from differences in practice, but God is still the same. I do not agree with some of the aspects of all denominations, nor do I disagree with all aspects of some denominations.

  • @StoneColdAxe Well no there's not because the Christian god is a personal god. So theoretically there are multiple gods. That's why there are thousands of different Christian sects. Either way it's fake. Monotheism has no more credit than pantheism. They both have an equal amount of proof which is zero.

  • @Pomaori There is only one God in Christianity.

  • @StoneColdAxe Exactly. The gods of Christian theology are just as much a myth as any of those you mentioned.

  • @Pomaori Fairy tales as in..... Papa, Rangi and Tangaroa?
