Fiat’s CEO, Sergio Marchione, is rumored to be Chrysler’s next CEO. The IIHS says minicars don’t crash well against midsize cars. BYD customers are running into problems with their batteries. All that and more, plus a test drive of the Chevy Volt.

  • bigger cars will be safer crashing into smaller cars??? get the fuck outta here, ever hear of common sense people, or how about physics and momentum? I didn't need the IIHS to tell me that one. And what else did I already know, oh, bigger pillars lead to bigger blind spots??? OMG you're a genius! What are we idiots?

  • @Fizzacles17 Get your damn facts right Mr IKnowItAll. When they crash test cars, such has small hatchbacks, the barriers they crash them in to represents the size and weight of a car that thier crash testing ! It means that for example the Fiat 500 or IQ Toyota have a 5 star rating against a car of their size and weight. Its not the case if a smaller car crashes into a large, heavier car. Get your facts right.

  • YOU ARE @%&$# ??? this are the small cars fiat 500 5 stars toyota IQ 5 stars alfa romeo MiTo 5 stars citroen c3 5 stars ford fiesta 5 stars honda jazz 5 stars mazda 2 5 stars mini cooper 5 stars renault clio 5 stars chevrolet aveo 5 stars vw polo 5 stars (at euroNCAP ) meanwhile the big cars nissan pathfinder 4 stars toyota rav4 4 stars nissan x trail 4stars honda cr-v 4 stars mitsubishi outlander 4 stars audi q7 4 stars ( at euroNCAP )
  • mini cars have poor safety ? are you fucking kidding me ? ever heard of Smart? that thing offers protect more than anything out there that i saw.

  • @ATLZero about 80% of all fatalities are single vehicle crashes. So, when ESC becomes standard on cars the cars will be on top again. Besides, ESC is no replacement static stability. If you get a van or SUV sideways on dry pavemeny you are very probably going for a wild ride. ESC or no.
