I think you need to use lag bolts, not those tiny little wood screws you are using.

awesome Off-grid skills. I'm building an off grid cabin too but I rely too much on the generator. I definitly plan on getting better with the chainsaw like you and the hand drill is sweet. Actually goes faster than i thought.
