Great, informative video Dan. Thanks. I'm trying to decide whether to get an SX or MX, to use for freshwater catfishing. My main concern though, is castability. I want to rig one of these on a 10' to 13' surf rod for some long distance casting/fishing. Have you tried either of them on a surf rod? I'm used to using Abu 6500-7000 series reels, and am wondering if you can make a comparison. Thanks again.

@budybudrofox Glad i could help! I have actually used both of them on a 12' surf rod, and i actually keep my SX on my surf rod at all times. they both cast very well, but i prefer my SX on my surf rod only because it has the magnacast system on it. both reals should work, but i highly recommend spending the extra $50-70 for the magnacast. the money you spend on it now will cover just one birdsnest if you are using a high quality braided line like power pro.

@101Surge it is a larger reel, which allows it to hold more line. It also has a higher gear ratio.

so if i'm really good at casting baitcasters then i would be better of getting the mxl instead of the sx mc

@dvonlangen you can get either model with or without the magnacast system. Im quite good at casting baitcasters, but the convenience of the magnacast system is worth the extra little bit of cash every time in my opinion.

@alisaloveschanel Well it all depends on what hes fishing for. If he prefers a wider spool get the mxl but if he prefers a narrower spool and he uses lures the mxj is better

Hi danny i would really love to know about this avet reel...1st i would like to know what the diffrence between Avet sx mc and Avet sx??? which one should i get for like 3 in 1 jigging,bottom & popping the Avet sx mc or the Avet sx??? Could u help me in this...and last Avet sx mc or Avet sx is better for offshore fishing???
