The Smalltooth Sawfish are endangered and extremely rare in South Florida. That is whyMote Marine Labs Center for Shark Research (sawfish are a close relative of the shark) fishes Florida Bay- to track and attach transponders to sawfish; in addition to collecting data on sawfish catches. Part 2.

  • Thanks so much for posting this...I was one of the interns featured in the video, and this survey trip was hands-down my favorite of my time at Mote. Working with the sawfish was an incredible experience that I'll never forget. Working with Tonya and all the scientists at Mote was one of the best experiences of my life. Thanks again! :)
