In this video, a lightning strike lands near downtown Saint Cloud. The photographer was even zapped by a nearby lightning bolt during this storm...(arm against a metal window frame...) conducting objects like metal and water can become electrified from a very close lightning strike.
Reports of a lightning related injury in Waite Park were also broadcast over EMS during this storm. I did the math on this the next day (speed of sound to calculate the distance from the strike) and concluded that the visible lightning strike likely did hit St. Mary's Cathedral.
