The problem is that those who makes the decisions for us wants to blame it on civilians with CO2, which is impossible to be the real problem. Other gases though, like Methane, is highly likely to be a problem. But that is a corporate problem mainly. Corporations don't want to make actions in any greater scale, so the problem has been falsly shifted to us. So we have a situation where the problem is true, but we put our tax-money on a false solution. So we get all the catastrophes and the cost.

Yes global warming is akin to putting all your money on one number at a roulette wheel. One massive gamble. But I think it really goes much further than just power and money.
